American Bobtail

American Bobtail was developed in the USA in 1960s.
This is a stocky, long-haired cat with an abbreviated tail. The double coat appears in two lengths: long and medium. The head is broad and rounded with wide ears and large eyes. The tail may be straight or slightly curled and is always well-haired.
The cat is characterised like friendly, patient, calm, watchful, intelligent, mischievous and good-natured. It has a scratchy little rambling voice. It is not fond of climbing and is very doglike.
This cat is similar to a Stumpy Manx. It should not be confused with the wild species, the American Bobcat (Lynx rufus).
Colour Forms: All colors are acceptable as long as the tail is "bobbed".
